Fabian Lichtenberg Appointed Managing Director and Partner
After more than 15 years with ELEMENT E Filmproduktion GmbH, Fabian Lichtenberg has been appointed Managing Director and Partner of the company.
Fabian’s journey with ELEMENT E has been defined by long-standing commitment, creative passion, and a deep connection to the company’s vision and culture. In his new role, he will lead the company alongside founder Lars Büchel, guiding ELEMENT E into its next chapter in an evolving and challenging production landscape.
This transition also marks a significant generational shift within the company. Co-founder Bernd T. Hoefflin hands over his position in management as part of a thoughtfully developed and collaborative succession process—one built on mutual respect and shared values.
Fabian expresses deep gratitude to both founders, whose guidance and influence have shaped his professional path over the past decade and a half. With a continued focus on storytelling excellence, creative integrity, and a clear vision, he looks forward to further strengthening ELEMENT E’s position in the industry.

Welcome to our new website!
In two decades of ELEMENT E a lot has changed. Next year we are turning twenty years old and it felt like our old website will do Two decades of ELEMENT E. It feels like the old website has been around for a similar number of years, so we are delighted to be launching the new website to mark the 20th anniversary. We are looking forward to all the new impressions to come! And we look forward to seeing all old and new faces who are interested in filmmaking at the highest energy level. We are here and we have never been more ready to throw everything into it.

Without the support of public funding Janek Rieke is about to release his film “Beule” The recipe is an absurd comedy about a couple whose perfect façade starts to crack. Olli (Janek Rieke) and Anja (Julia Hartmann) are a happy couple – but then Anja gets pregnant and her body releases hormones that turn her into a different person for a few weeks. An exhausting person. Anja’s mood swings cause Olli to despair. Nine months later, she goes into labour. On the way to the hospital, Anja accidentally meets Olli’s lover. And from then on, everything that can go wrong goes wrong. “Beule” screened at Filmfest Hamburg and Internationals Filmfest Emden-Norderney and will be in cinemas in 2025.
