Although she applied for the documentary film department at film school at the time, her first work, a social spot about child poverty, landed her a direct entry at numerous advertising film festivals and won the Young Directors Award in Cannes, among other places. Since then she has never let go of the short form. With a firm conviction that touching stories can be told in many different ways, whether in 20 seconds or 120 minutes, she made her first feature film "1000 ways to describe rain" in 2016. Isa was born in Münster in 1978. She studied graphic design in Hamburg and literature, culture and media in Siegen. She completed an editorial traineeship at a Cologne production company before she began her studies of directing at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne in 2007. She completed her studies with the short feature film "Ausreichend" and won several national and international awards. For "Ausreichend" she received the First Steps Award - the most important German award for young filmmakers.
